I was looking to find out what they were when I found your site. I like to have the right name for my bug on Deviant Art. I took a lot of pictures because I had never seen these insects before. After I figured out what the insect was I was surprised there was a web site for this creature. I used a Nikon D40 and a 200mm lens by the way. Fabulous pics Susan!! (gotta get me one of those cameras)

If you look carefully at the mayflies, you can see them in various stages of 'just getting ready to molt (wings are flattened out)' to 'crawling out of their skin.' Of course Perry's Monument makes a fitting backdrop. I'm sure Perry and his crew had to deal with them too!
